I had 2 separate incidents when I fractured my shoulders. I had the first Reverse Total Shoulder Replacement in July 2022 for my right shoulder and the second in March 2023. Both were done without complications and although I do not have total movements as I had in the past, it is much better than before the operations.
I have a rare condition: Dextrocardia with Situs Inversus Totalis when the position of both the thoracic and abdominal viscera are reversed that it is a mirror image of normal anatomy.This does not interfere with my daily tasks or my reverse total shoulder replacement, but looking at my x-ray it is interesting to see what is left or right.

Mr Gupta was truly the best surgeon I could have asked for. I came to him with a complex left wrist fracture, which had split out of the bone due to a road accident. My arm had metal x-fix's in and was sewed up in Vietnam before I saw him. He is very talented at what he does and assessed my situation as best he could. He performed the surgery on me at Runnymead Hospital and it went well. Thanks to this, and helpful physio appointments, I am now able to use my arm as I was before the crash. I can do handstands and cartwheels etc which is something I am over the moon with.
He is a smart, trustworthy and efficient doctor who I would recommend to anyone who needs arm or shoulder advice/surgery/help.
He has made me aware of the potential situations that may occur later on down the line, but we are both very happy with the outcome.

From my first appointment with Mr.Gupta he explained my problem and gave me clear and concise options for treatment. I decided to go with the surgery option and had a Ulnar nerve decompression and anterior transposition.
After surgery he answered any queries I had quickly and clearly. I would recommend him without hesitation.

Mr Rohit Gupta, BSc(Hons), MBBS(Lond), FRCS(Eng), FRCS(Tr&Orth), is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Upper Limb surgery at Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Surrey since 2005. He provides NHS and private treatment for shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand complaints, both surgical and non-surgical.
